Timer Defective

The Start/Stop timer is defective. When my iPhone 6+ goes into the lock screen the timer stops counting. Then when I awake the phone the timer resumes at the point it stopped. Also the calendar date doesnt update properly either as I have to reboot the phone in order to update the current date.
